Summary / Definition:
Reporting to the Associate State Librarian for Library Development, the person in this position will function as the project specialist for the State Library's services to the urban library community and "Boomer" and senior populations.
Requirements:
Education and Experience: Commensurate with the level of expertise a project demands.

Examples of Work: ?Liaises with the New Jersey Library Association's Urban Libraries and Special Population sections.
?Writes and administers grant programs to fund programs of importance to these communities.
?Provides continuing education programs of statewide impact for librarians serving these communities / constituencies.
?Provides consulting assistance to urban libraries and diverse communities.
?Investigates and recommends strategies to address library services to the poor, library services to immigrants and priorities identified in NJ's LSTA plan.
?Becomes familiar with methods to identify underserved members of the library community.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Desirable Qualifications: ?Experience and knowledge of issues facing urban libraries and/or active older adults.
??Excellent oral and written communication skills.
?Ability to develop and conduct training sessions.
?Valid NJ driver's license for statewide travel.
?Fluency in a second language other than English (preferred.)
