Description 1) The Shepherd's Way Animal Rescue started as a backyard rescue in 1998 and became a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity in 2003.
2)We rescue approx. 120 horses a year and adopt out 80-90 a year to forever, loving families.
3)We rehab and retrain the horses and pair them up with disadvantaged and disabled children of all ages where we offer free riding lessons to the families.

5) In doing some research, the homeless horsey population in the Inland Northwest averages between 500-600 a year. We make a very small dent in saving the lives of these magnificent creatures. We cannot save them all, but we can make a difference one horse and one child at a time.
